This study aims to show the interested public the effects of lipids on the productive and reproductive performance of Zebu cows fed unsaturated fatty acids included in low-consumption pasture supplements. It reviews the partitioning of nutrients to meet the nutritional requirements of beef cows, focusing on body condition as a reflection of the diet to which they are subjected. It also emphasises digestion and lipid metabolism in ruminants, as well as milk production and calf development in beef cows subjected to different forms of supplementation or feeding with or without lipid sources.
