Al hacerlo, no puede evitar que las semanas en torno al golpe cívico militar de 1973 y Unquén, el lugar donde le tocó vivirlas, se conviertan en el prisma para juzgar toda su existencia. Conviene advertir cuán inútil resulta suponer de antemano que ese quedarse pegado en un momento crucial empaña la agilidad de esta novela. Por fortuna, la evidente obsesión de Lucho no impide la gran amenidad de su relato. Este se encuentra cruzado por diversos escenarios, variadas voces, risas, situaciones azarosas, patéticas o eróticas, en medio de aquello que sin duda hace parte de la mayor tragedia de nuestro país.
