'The Practical Flower Garden' is a classic hardening handbook written by Helena Rutherfurd Ely. Helena Rutherfurd Ely was an American author and gardener who co-founded the Garden Club of America, responsible for publishing three very influential books that moving away from Victorian style gardens in favour of more informal gardening.
