Esta obra aborda al libro como un terreno de labranza, campo fértil que permite numerosas configu-raciones informativas y estéticas. Está pensada para el público en general y para estudiantes en proceso formativo. La visualidad y estética del impreso logró una estructura más o menos estable y generalizada a fines del siglo XVIII, cuando sus formas alcanzaron una modalidad cercana a la de los libros a los que estamos acostumbrados actualmente. “Sobre un campo blanco” ofrece un recorrido histórico sobre las formas visuales y textuales en las que se han configurado los libros impresos mexicanos, publicados en la capital del Virreinato y en Puebla de los Ángeles, entre el siglo XVI y el inicio del siglo XIX. El ma¬terial gráfico utilizado pertenece a la Biblioteca Franciscana. 10
