Sekino Junichiro (1914 - 1988) is one of the most important Japanese printmakers of the 20th century and a prominent member of the Sosaku Hanga movement, which represents an important movement in Japanese art history.Sekino began issuing prints of the Tokaido in 1960, about a year after his return from North and Central America and Europe. It took him fifteen years - until 1974 - to complete all fifty-five stations of the Tokaido.
