Hace tres años, en el mes de marzo, José Morán caminaba por la Rua das Flores n.º 28, 4050-262, cerca del río Luis I, en la ciudad de Porto, Portugal, cuando vio en la vitrina de la librería Pedro Chaminé una palabra que atrajo su atención: Morazán. Se acercó, y allí, entre otros libros, estaba Morazán: presidente de la desaparecida República Centroamericana, del escritor hondureño Arturo Mejía Nieto. Era la edición de Editorial Nova, publicada en Buenos Aires, Argentina, en 1947. José, graduado en el Liceo Franco Hondureño en Tegucigalpa, vive ahora en París; desde allá nos trajo este libro poco conocido con la generosa intención de que nuevos lectores lo descubran y, de esa forma, también descubran a Mejía Nieto y al propio general Morazán. Sobre el autor: ARTURO MEJÍA NIETO. Nació en La Esperanza, Intibucá el 3 de junio de 1899. Falleció en Buenos Aires, Argentina, el 16 de mayo de 1972. Escribió, entre otras obras: Relatos Nativos, Zapatos Viejos, El Solterón, El Chele Amaya y otros cuentos, El Tunco, El prófugo de sí mismo, A la deriva y Morazán, presidente de la desaparecida República de Centro América.
