A descriptive account on the low carbon policy and the key issues in Taiwan has been presented in this insightful book. Taiwan, a small Asian country, is well-known for its high-tech industry. However, being a member of the global village, Taiwan understands its responsibility in curtailing carbon emissions. The book showcases Taiwan’s transformation from a high-tech to a reduced carbon island. It discusses Taiwan’s policies for reduced carbon development in the past 10 years and administers an econometric approach to assess Taiwan’s sector department CO2 emissions. It also presents how the shift in environment affects the economic growth of Taiwan and also gives two successful examples of low-carbon pilot regions in Taiwan.
