Epicteto (50 - 135 d. C.), filósofo griego, vivió parte de su vida como esclavo de Epafrodito en Roma. Todo lo que sabemos de él fue recogido por su discípulo Flavio Arriano. La fama de Epicteto como estoico fue grande, aplicó la filosofía tradicional de la Stoa de lógica, física y ética, aunque los textos que se conservan tratan casi exclusivamente de ética.
