En aquel pequeño velero, El Coquimbo, regresaron a El Salvador. Derrotados, con el corazón roto, hambrientos, sin esperanza. Algunos decidieron renunciar a luchar por el sueño de la Federación Centroamericana; otros juraron mantener viva la llama hasta el último día de sus vidas. Entre las pertenencias: mil fusiles y una pequeña barca, propiedad del general Francisco Morazán. Fue un viaje triste, el más triste de la historia. Nadie deseaba recibirlos. Su general había sido fusilado en San José, Costa Rica, pero su espíritu estaba presente. Colección Erandique agradece al poeta Livio Ramírez, presidente del Instituto Morazánico, por permitirnos publicar este libro, y al personal de la Colección Hondureña de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras (UNAH), de Tegucigalpa, por el apoyo para que Los Coquimbos sea una realidad. Sobre el autor:ISMAEL MEJÍA DERAS.
