El libro Marielle Franco - A Photobiography es un documento esencial no sólo para comprender las principales cuestiones sociales de actualidad en Brasil, sino también la amplia lucha por los derechos humanos, para la población negra y para las personas LGBTQIAP+. Marielle Franco (1979-2018) fue una de las políticas brasileñas contemporáneas más importantes. Nacida en el Complexo da Maré, una gran comunidad de favelas de Río de Janeiro, se convirtió en concejala de la ciudad con una fuerte presencia en los debates sobre derechos humanos y cultura de las favelas. Fue brutalmente asesinada en 2018, en un crimen político que aún no se ha resuelto. Este libro recoge unas 80 fotos de su trayectoria, desde su infancia hasta la repercusión mundial de su muerte, acompañadas de fragmentos de textos, entrevistas y testimonios suyos. 10
