Este libro es un compendio de seis artículos científicos escritos con miras a analizar problemáticas históricas de la traducción y aspectos teóricos relevantes para el estudio de la traducción en el contexto internacional actual. Los tres primeros capítulos enfocan la traducción durante la Antigüedad y el Renacimiento, evidenciando la acción de personajes como Cicerón, Horacio, San Jerónimo, Martín y Fray Luis de León a favor de la actividad traductora en circunstancias muy a veces hostiles. En los tres últimos capítulos, se analiza la traducción en relación con temáticas actuales como la jerarquización de las lenguas, el lenguaje de especialidad y el influjo de las TIC en la docencia de la traducción. Esta contribución científica se dirige a universitarios, sean profesores o estudiantes, interesados por el estudio traductológico.
