En la Cuba de las postutopías y el desencanto, ¿cuál es la relación entre la ciudad y sus habitantes? ¿En qué medida pueden acceder los cubanos a la producción y vitalidad de la polis? Ciudadanías liminales explora la representación del entramado urbano en el arte y la literatura cubanos contemporáneos como espacio simbólico de la transición del sujeto revolucionario en ciudadano. Es a través de las prácticas más cotidianas -caminar, murmurar, vigilar a los vecinos o vender y comprar en las extensas redes del mercado negro- que los cubanos reconfiguran su condición de ciudadanos y articulan aquello que Henri Lefebvre llamó el derecho a la ciudad.Désirée Díaz (La Habana, 1977) se doctoró en la Universidad de Wisconsin-Madison y actualmente enseña en el Departamento de Español de Swarthmore College. Profesora y ensayista, sus investigaciones se ocupan de la literatura y la cultura visual en Latinoamérica y el Caribe, así como de la producción cultural de los Latinos en los Estados Unidos. Anteriormente trabajó en el equipo editorial de la revista La Gaceta de Cuba y fue investigadora en el Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos (ICAIC).
