¿Los calentadores solares contribuyen al cuidado del medio ambiente? Desde luego que sí. No emiten sustancias o gases tóxicos que afecten al medio ambiente, mientras que la energía eléctrica que se ha utilizado en décadas pasadas y a la fecha, genera gases contaminantes afectando a la atmósfera. En el mundo se genera electricidad utilizando para ello recursos no renovables como el carbón y el petróleo, los cuales además de contaminar se van a agotar en algún momento no muy lejano, por lo que su costo está en constante incremento; y durante el proceso de producción de la energía eléctrica las materias primas emiten gases contaminantes que están afectando indiscriminadamente al planeta. Por ello, cada vez son más los países que se han convertido en consumidores activos de este tipo de energía, sobre todo los desarrollados ubicados en el continente europeo, en América también se está aprovechando la energía solar, aunque en menor proporción y por supuesto que México ubicado en el continente americano no es la excepción.
