Mr. Charles Dixon has served as a community program Director advocating for fathers and families over 25 years in Newark, New Jersey and across America. He has also served a consultant to the National Head Start Bureau in Washington, DC, working with local and national media; NBC Dateline, and other broadcasting networks.Mr. Dixon is a graduate of Seton Hall University in New Jersey (Non-Profit Management, MPA Program). 'Arise' unearth a treasure among African American Men and families emerging through a dark period of the 20th century. A journey filled with the trials and triumphs of Blacks through segregation, discrimination, riots, Vietnam War, welfare establishment and the post aftermath of the civil rights movement.  Mr. Dixon engages his family as a reflection mirroring the image of the millions of African American families living in the United States during this period. He discusses the social ingredients in the development and shaping of black men and the significant roles of Black Women’s in aiding and supporting men in achieving success.Moreover, He gives tribute and recognition to unsung heroes and local and national community leaders who played a significant role in fortifying the community providing support to single parent and indigent families. Thus, He highlights several decades of the Men’s Movement in the United States in promoting responsible fatherhood toward social change.Finally, the author creates a path for hope and inspiration through the power of faith and perseverance through his personal experiences, professional training, and testimonies. He affirms men and families can 'Arise from the beneath the rubble of discrimination, racism, hardships, poverty, crime, and other life threatening challenges to live above their mental & social conditions and circumstance of life.
