A aplicação do sistema de paredes de cisalhamento em edifícios de betão armado (RC) tem vindo a ser amplamente utilizada para minimizar as consequências sísmicas. O artigo apresenta o estudo paramétrico em termos de deslocamentos, deriva de andares e comparação de cisalhamento de base para diferentes localizações de paredes de cisalhamento no edifício. Os resultados são únicos e úteis para atenção futura. Este artigo centra-se no efeito da localização da parede de corte num edifício de vários andares. Considera-se um edifício em planta de estrutura G+10 (11 andares) com uma dimensão de base de 24m X 24m e uma altura de piso típica de 3,3m. No presente trabalho, um edifício de 11 andares foi modelado com recurso a um software e foram estudados dois modelos diferentes com diferentes localizações de paredes de corte na estrutura do edifício para parâmetros críticos como o deslocamento e o corte na base sob carga lateral. A análise foi efectuada utilizando o software ETABS e, para a análise, foi utilizado o método do coeficiente sísmico. Foram analisados dois tipos de modelos (um com parede de cisalhamento colocada no meio de 4 lados periféricos e outro com parede de cisalhamento colocada em 4 cantos em forma de L).
